The Dréimire Project offers free intensive support to 20 young people from low socio-economic backgrounds, from ethnic minorities, diverse and immigrant backgrounds, to audition for performance courses at third level and further education in Ireland and in the UK.
The Dréimire Project is a programme organised and managed by Crooked House Theatre Company and serves as an access support to actor training. ‘Dréimire’, or ‘Ladder’ (in Irish), is a way to access imagined spaces and overcome real or physical obstacles that obstruct us from attaining our goals. This facility will support you in your applications to further education and third level training courses in the pursuit of your career in the theatre industry. It will run from September to June each year.
What we offer:
Free one-to-one actor mentorship from professional acting coaches
A range of free monologue workshops hosted by third level acting schools.
Assistance, if needed, with applications partake in weekly Young Actors’ School to get a taster of studying in third level (online and in-person).
Access to a range of resources (monologues, advice, tips and training).
Assistance with expensive travel to auditions.
Crooked House partners with The Lir Academy in Dublin to offer free group audition workshops run by The Lir.
